The Humanities and Arts Research Centre

The Humanities and Arts Research Centre (HARC) at Royal Holloway was officially opened on 23 January 2002 with an event involving the American language-poet, Charles Bernstein, reading from and talking about the libretto he has written for an opera about Walter Benjamin. He was responded to by the poet Allen Fisher. Music from the opera by Brian Ferneyhough, as well as music by composers of the Second Viennese School was played by the pianist Ian Pace.

The Centre has been established to foster interdisciplinary initiatives at both post-graduate and staff level. More details
